Squamish is a city in British Columbia, Canada, with a population of around 17,158. The town was the railway's first southern terminus and dates back to the 1910s, during the Pacific Great Eastern Railway’s construction.
Forestry has traditionally been the area’s primary industry. The Western Forest Products-operated pulp mill was the city’s largest employer, but the company ceased operations in 2006. Today, the city boasts exceptional employment opportunities, with an unemployment rate below 8%.
