Description
The next West Coast Modern home is ready for its new custodian. The Pool House was designed and built by the prolific Lauder Bros Builders Inc., reputed in their ability to be in sync with architects. The Lauder Bros were the master builders used by Dan White, Downs, Hollingsworth, and Erickson. Personal homes of Vancouver luminaries like Jim Pattison, Peter brown, Sam Belzberg wore the Lauder stamp. The Pool House is one of the last remaining mid-century moderns the Lauders designed and built themselves. It's reminiscent of the Eichler homes in California, which launched a movement of modern open-plan design. Nestled among the forest of upper Dundarave, with a private, expansive view of the Burrard Inlet, it's as if a slice of Palm Springs is hidden in the city.
