Email Marketing Manager

Properly is looking for a talented Email Marketing Manager to manage the company's retention marketing program, with a focus on email. You will be responsible for end-to-end email marketing performance, from strategy through execution.

This role is right for you if you pair an experimental mindset with deep empathy for customers. You'll play a key role in nurturing relationships with Canadian homeowners as they consider choosing Properly to manage the largest transaction of their lives. The position is full-time and remote-friendly, reporting to the Head of Growth.

You will:

  • Develop a deep empathy for and understanding of Properly's customers
  • Build and manage retention marketing programs (e.g. email, SMS) for customers in various stages of the home buying & selling journey
  • Establish an experimental process to test variables such as creative, frequency, customer segmentation, and timing to improve performance over time
  • Collaborate with Data and Engineering teammates to draft and execute against audience/database management and email automation requirements
  • Partner with Marketing, Product, and Design to define and improve an end-to-end framework of the customer journey across various segments

Skills and characteristics:

  • Previous roles focused on designing high-volume email marketing programs in a consumer context, ideally for a high-growth startup
  • Deep understanding of customer retention strategy, with interest in how it works "under the hood" (i.e. tracking, technology stack, tooling)
  • Analytical mindset, with self-serve capabilities using Excel/Sheets and SQL
  • Hands-on experience using email communication platforms such as Customer.io, Braze, Iterable, MailChimp, and Hubspot
  • Curiosity about data, behaviour, and the insights those hold about customers
