Real Estate - Toronto

We are looking for an experienced broker to support our growing team of Southern Ontario based real estate agents. In this role, you will report directly to our Chief Operating Officer and be a critical thought partner on matters of strategy, operations and regulatory compliance within our brokerage.

What you will do:

  • Ensure brokerage-level compliance with the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act, 2020 and its regulations
  • Ensure the appropriate administration of brokerage trust and general operating accounts 
  • Oversee financial reconciliations, record keeping and reporting in accordance with the Act
  • Ensure an adequate level of supervision for the brokers, salespeople and back-office team members employed with the brokerage 
  • Maintain dynamic brokerage policies and procedures leveraging ongoing leanings and precedents 
  • Be the first point of contact for sales associates, cooperating brokerage, and back-office team members for escalations requiring broker-level input and support
  • Work closely with the sales management function to ensure appropriate regulatory support and training of sales associates, including 1:1 and regular team-wide training
  • Liaise with regulators, associations, boards, legal counsel and other brokerages as required
  • Participate in local industry boards, committees, associations and task forces where beneficial

What we are looking for:

  • RECO Broker’s license
  • TRREB registration
  • Minimum 5 years of broker-level experience (Broker of Record, Branch Manager) overseeing the regulatory and compliance aspects of a brokerage, with at least a few of those years focused in the GTA
  • Experience dealing with transaction, agent and brokerage level escalations with registrants and regulators
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and supervise transactions
  • Strong working knowledge of FINTRAC, CREA, RECO and TRREB regulations, including REBBA 2002
  • Strong interpersonal, listening and communication skills
  • Ability to make quick decisions and solve problems using good judgment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize operational challenges to support a large team while still managing independent work

It would be a bonus if you have:

  • Ten+ years of real estate sales experience in Toronto (Salesperson/agent, team lead)
  • Management experience including well-honed business, financial and administrative management skills
  • Ability to design and implement new processes to manage recurring operational challenges
  • Current or past standing with local industry boards committees, associations or task forces
